Police were searching Tuesday for a suspect who shot and killed a 43-year-old man following a dispute in Canoga Park.

The shooting was reported just before 2:20 p.m. Monday near the 21300 block of Victory Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Arriving officers found Mkher Alaverdian of Glendale in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene told officers that the shooting stemmed from a dispute that occurred minutes earlier near the 6400 block of DeSoto Avenue, police said. The suspect, riding a bicycle, fired into Alaverdian’s car following the dispute and fled the scene.

No suspect description was available.
