Anaheim police Sunday were attempting to negotiate the surrender of a barricaded man in an apartment building.
The drama began about 6:15 p.m. Sunday at the Carlyle Courtyard, at 2630 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer told City News Service.
Carringer said a report came into the fire department about a fire and explosion at that apartment complex. When firefighters arrived, a resident said an armed man was in one of the units. Firefighters backed off and called police.
Police were negotiating with the man to surrender as of 9 p.m.
Carringer said he did not know why the man armed and barricaded himself.
