The pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle on a Santa Monica street in an apparent hit-and-run and then hit by a second vehicle while in the street, was homeless.

Paul Sigler was 58-yeaqrs-old, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash was reported at 8:05 p.m. Saturday at 10th Street and Pico Boulevard, according to Santa Monica police Lt. Robert D’Andrea.

Police were searching for a White Dodge Challenger with red racing stripes on its hood, ABC7 reported.

The second driver who hit the pedestrian stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, the station reported.

Sigler was pronounced dead at the scene, D’Andrea said.

The department’s Major Accident Response Team was investigating the crash, which will include talking to witnesses and checking for surveillance video in the area, he said.
