A 26-year-old man who was killed when his sedan slammed into a crane parked near a construction site in Riverside was identified Monday.
Gerson Cuc Huitz of Riverside was fatally injured just after midnight Sunday near the intersection of Howard Avenue and Tenth Street, according to the Riverside Police Department.
Sgt. Emilio Angulo said Huitz was at the wheel of a 2005 Toyota Camry going northbound on Howard when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the boom-lift crane.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene minutes later.
An autopsy was pending Monday.
