A man died of a suspected opioid overdose and two other men were hospitalized with symptoms of an overdose in Cathedral City, police said Saturday.
Firefighters found one of the men lying outside a vehicle in medical distress about 6:20 a.m. Friday in a parking lot in the 31200 block of Landau Boulevard, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.
A second man was found inside the vehicle, also in medical distress, and a third was found dead at the top of a staircase landing near where the other two men were found, according to police.
The two men in medical distress were taken to a hospital and were expected to survive.
