A brush fire charred a quarter-acre of vegetation Saturday off the Golden State (5) Freeway and Templin Highway in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The fire was first reported about 3:40 p.m. in medium brush creeping uphill pushed by 5 mph winds from the south, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No structures were threatened, officials said.
The spread was held at a quarter-acre and the flames were out at 3:50 p.m., according to Angeles National Forest Fire Chief Robert Garcia, who said firefighters and county firefighters worked together on an aggressive attack.
