A 36-year-old transient was behind bars Friday on suspicion of fatally stabbing another homeless man in Anaheim.
Rolando Echenique was booked Thursday on suspicion of killing 53-year-old Jason Randall Dahl, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Jacob Gallacher.
Echenique lived in a homeless encampment near where Dahl’s body was found, Gallacher said.

A passerby called police about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday when they spotted the body in a field near Phoenix Club Drive and Sanderson Avenue, police said. Dahl was stabbed at least once.
It wasn’t clear whether Dahl lived in the same encampment, Gallacher said.
Police declined to discuss motive or whether the two men knew each other, he said.
Echenique was being held in Anaheim’s jail on $1 million bail.
