A sentencing hearing scheduled for Wednesday was delayed until March 8 for an Echo Park man who used a social media messaging app to distribute child pornography and attempt to meet two children for sexual purposes.
Francisco Dorame, 41, pleaded guilty in October to federal charges of attempted sex trafficking of a child under 14 and of distribution of child pornography. Prosecutors are asking for a 20-year prison sentence and a lifetime period of supervised release.
Dorame admitted using the Kik Messenger app in an attempt to meet two children, aged 7 and 9.
He made two payments totaling $100 to a person with access to the children, then requested photos of the victims while expressing a desire to “play with them right away,” prosecutors said. He used the app to set up a meeting time and location.
Dorame — who used the online monikers “dadboss99” and “SEXYCONN” — additionally utilized the app to distribute sexually explicit images of children between 4 and 6 years old, prosecutors said.
Federal prosecutors wrote that Dorame’s “lifelong and dangerous obsession with girls has manifested in an extensive collection of child sex abuse material, several attempts to procure girls for sex acts, and inappropriate relationships with then-minors.”
No reason was immediately given for the delay in sentencing.
