A woman was killed Tuesday in a traffic crash in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles that also left a 6-year-old girl badly injured.
The crash was reported at about 8 a.m. near Fairfax and Colgate avenues, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Paramedics sent to the 6200 block of West Colgate Avenue found a vehicle had hit a woman in her 30s and a girl about 6 years old, then hit a two-story apartment building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“The adult female was sadly found to be deceased on scene,” the LAFD said in a statement. “The young girl was transported in critical condition.”
The motorist, a man about 30, was taken to a hospital in “moderate” condition, the LAFD reported. The crash occurred near Hancock Park Elementary School.
Police were investigating the circumstances of the crash.
