Police Friday sought the public’s help to find the driver who struck and critically injured a 20-year-old bicyclist in Fountain Valley then fled.
Officers responded to the intersection of Bushard Street and Columbus Court at around 10:25 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a collision involving a seriously injured man, according to Fountain Valley Police Department Sgt. Brian Mosher.
The victim, a Huntington Beach resident, was riding northbound on Bushard Street in a bicycle lane when struck by a vehicle going in the same direction, Mosher said.
The driver failed to stop, leaving parts of the vehicle behind.
A preliminary investigation determined the vehicle was possibly a 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander sport utility vehicle, according to Mosher.
The victim was in critical but stable condition Friday, Mosher said.
