A brush fire erupted Tuesday in the Cleveland National Forest south of Corona, burning a hillside deep in a wooded area, not immediately threatening any structures.
The blaze was reported about 12:30 p.m. off Skyline Drive, near Tin Mine Canyon, according to the Corona Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews from the city and Riverside County Fire Department were sent to the location, encountering difficulties finding access to the terrain where the blaze was located.
It was unclear whether U.S. Forest Service firefighters were deploying to the site.
A Corona Fire Department captain reported that the brusher was moving upslope at a slow rate. There were no structures in the immediate area.
As of 1 p.m., no Cal Fire aircraft had been requested to make runs on the blaze.
There was no word on what might have triggered the fire.
