A two-story residential fire in South Los Angeles was knocked down Friday in under 20 minutes, with no reports of injuries.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange, 40 firefighters responded to the 4700 block of South Western Avenue around 4:25 p.m. Friday to a report regarding a residential fire in a unit on the second floor of a two-story building.
Prange said fire crews coordinated vertical ventilation set up for smoke to escape the building and battled flames inside that building, stopping the spread of the fire to threaten adjacent structures.
What may have sparked the fire is unclear, and a cause is under investigation.
