A Long Beach transit bus and another vehicle collided Thursday, sending both careening into a seafood restaurant and injuring more than a dozen people.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the area of Myrtle and Lewis avenues, according to Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Alyssa Baeza.
Although initial information was limited, police said multiple people were injured with injuries ranging from minor to critical but stable condition.
According to reports from the scene, at least five people were taken to hospitals, while nine others suffered only minor injuries. The conditions of those taken to hospitals were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation. The vehicle involved in the crash appeared to be crumpled and partially inside the restaurant building.
