A motorcyclist wanted for speeding was taken into custody in Hollywood Monday evening following a reckless, high-speed chase that at times exceeded 130 mph.

The pursuit began in West Covina before 9 p.m., according to CBS 2. Police temporarily lost the suspect in downtown Los Angeles but located the motorcyclist again as the suspect sped onto the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway.

The suspect exited the freeway and then took to the surface streets, speeding through several traffic lights, weaving around other drivers and driving erratically at high-speeds in the Chinatown area before reentering the freeway.

A California Highway Patrol officer caught up to the suspect in Hollywood at a freeway on-ramp and blocked the suspect from speeding away, KCAL9 reported.

The suspect then dropped to the ground, where police took him into custody.
