A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Long Beach, and a search was continuing Friday for the motorist who struck her.

The woman was struck around 11 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Willow Street and Easy Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Police said the unidentified woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

Police said a vehicle — a description of which was not available — was being driven westbound on Willow Street and struck the woman, who was crossing Willow Street outside a marked crosswalk. The driver fled the scene.

The woman’s name was not immediately released, pending notification of relatives.
