A man was killed in Long Beach early Sunday when he was struck by two vehicles, one of which fled the scene, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched about 4:25 a.m. to the 700 block of West Pacific Coast Highway, between Daisy and Maine avenues, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police said the driver of the first vehicle fled, while the second driver stayed and cooperated with officers.
The pedestrian was in the roadway — not in a crosswalk — when he was struck by the first vehicle, police said.
Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
