Two men were injured — one critically — and a Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter also suffered an injury Wednesday during a fire in Hollywood.
Fire crews were called at 3 a.m. to 1337 N. Cherokee Ave. between De Longpre and Fountain avenues, where they found heavy flames coming from the one-story home, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Firefighters rescued two men trapped behind a security gate inside the residence and took them to a hospital in critical and serious condition, respectively.
A flash over occurred when fire crews were inside the building and four members of the crew were taken to a hospital for observation. One firefighter sustained ear burns, Prange said.
It took 48 firefighters 31 minutes to extinguish the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
