Authorities sought the public’s help Tuesday to find the hit-and-run driver responsible for seriously injuring a man who was riding a bicycle with a group of other bicyclists in Long Beach.

The crash occurred at about 9:50 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Atlantic Avenue and Fourth Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male adult bicyclist who was lying halfway on the sidewalk,” police said in a statement.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital with ” serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the bicyclist had been participating in a group bike ride traveling westbound on 4th Street when a silver Nissan sedan with chrome rims traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue collided with him,” police said. “The driver continued driving and fled the scene.”
