A security guard fatally shot a motorist who was allegedly trying to run down people in the parking lot of a South Los Angeles store.
The shooting occurred at the Home Depot at 1830 Slauson Ave. around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Jon Winstanley.
The gender and age of the motorist was not immediately available. The person’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. A motive for the actions of the motorist was unknown.
The security guard was detained by LAPD’s South Bureau Homicide. It was not yet known if the guard was arrested or just detained for questioning. No one from South Bureau Homicide was immediately available for comment.
