A 24-year-old woman was shot and killed in the Vermont-Slauson area, police said Friday.
Officers responded to the 5800 block of South Hoover Street around 8:50 p.m. Tuesday to a report regarding shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Responding officers discovered a woman lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. She had also been struck by a vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her identity was being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner pending notification of relatives.
