Sheriff’s detectives Tuesday are investigating the circumstances surrounding the body of a 28-year-old man found near a creek bed in Hawaiian Gardens.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were called at just after 11 p.m. Monday to a remote area near Coyote Creek, regarding a shots fired call. Upon their arrival, they found the man’s body with multiple gunshot wounds near a hillside, Fox 11 reported.
“There was information about shots being fired in the area,” sheriff’s homicide Lt. Omar Camacho told Fox 11.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the man as Markus Michel, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
