Police Wednesday were investigating a hit-and-run collision that left a 77-year-old man dead in Boyle Heights.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division were called to the intersection of Mission Road and Plaza del Sol at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday.
When they arrived, they learned a vehicle driving south on Mission struck a man and did not stop, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
The man died at the scene, according to police.
He was later identified by the county medical examiner as Jose Dorado.
No description was available of the hit-and-run vehicle. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
