A woman driving an SUV was killed early Wednesday in a collision with a big rig in Lancaster.
The crash occurred at about 3:15 a.m. at Avenue H and 10th Street West, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the woman, who died at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s department, the woman was driving a Ford Expedition north on 10th Street West “and reportedly did not stop at the red traffic light signal of Avenue H.”
“The Semi Truck and trailer was traveling eastbound on Avenue H through the intersection when the Ford Expedition collided into the passenger side of the Semi Truck and trailer,” the department said.
Authorities said it was unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
