A pedestrian was killed Tuesday when a vehicle smashed into the side of a building in the Vermont Square area, pinning the person between the SUV and the wall.
According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton, firefighters responded to the 1300 block of West 46th Street around 4:35 p.m. Tuesday and found a vehicle that had trapped a person against a building.
“Sadly, the trapped patient was declared deceased on scene by firefighters. The condition of the vehicle’s driver is unknown at this time,” Middleton said in a statement.
It was unclear what led to the collision.
City building officials were called to the scene to assess the integrity of the structure.
