Two people were critically injured in a three-vehicle collision in the Sepulveda Basin Tuesday evening that involved a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser.
Firefighters were sent to the intersection of Balboa and Burbank boulevards around 7:45 p.m. for a collision involving two individuals trapped inside a vehicle needing rescue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
“Crews deployed hydraulic rescue tools and extricated two patients,” Prange said. “A total of three patients were evaluated/treated on scene. The third victim refused to be taken to a hospital.”
It was unclear what led up to the multi-vehicle collision. The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating.
