Los Angeles firefighters are in Woolsey Canyon in Chatsworth Monday to help counterparts from Los Angeles and Ventura counties put out hot spots in a fire that charred 4 acres of brush.
City firefighters first provided mutual aid on the ground and in the air Sunday afternoon in the 24000 block of West Woolsey Canyon Road, said the Los Angeles fire Department’s Lyndsey Lantz. It is dubbed the Dora Incident.
The brush fire was pushed by 2 to 3 mph winds until forward progress was stopped, Lantz said.
“Four of the LAFD companies dispatched as automatic aid will remain staged and await orders as hot spots are doused and the threat of rekindle is abated,” Lantz said.
