Officers recovered a firearm from a man who was firing off fireworks in Long Beach, authorities said Thursday.
Officers were patrolling about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday near the 2500 block of Santa Fe Avenue when they detained a man who was lighting fireworks, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“During their investigation, officers located a firearm in the suspect’s vehicle,” according to a police statement. “The suspect was arrested, and officers recovered the firearm.”
The man’s identity was not immediately made public.
