Police sought the public’s help Wednesday in locating a motorist who fatally struck a woman in the Baldwin Hills area and fled the scene.
The accident occurred around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of La Cienega and Obama boulevards, where a woman was struck by a vehicle that continued northbound on La Cienega without stopping to render aid, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location, where they pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Yvonne Parks, 40.
Police had no description of a suspect.
According to Fox11, which cited police, Parks and her boyfriend were walking in a crosswalk to the 7-Eleven on the northeast corner of the intersection from a nearby homeless encampment when she was hit by a speeding vehicle.
The man was not injured, the station said.
The city offers a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run.
