A motorcycle rider was killed Friday after being struck by a dark sedan on the San Diego (405) Freeway in North Hills.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 2:11 a.m. to the northbound freeway and Nordhoff Street where they found the victim and the sedan in the middle lanes of the freeway, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The motorcycle rider, whose name, gender and age were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the northbound freeway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the collision.
