A Silver Alert was issued for Los Angeles and Orange counties for a 73-year-old woman last seen in Signal Hill, authorities said Friday.
Karen Lou Cox was last seen at 2 p.m. on Wednesday near Lime Avenue and East Willow Street, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Signal Hill Police Department.
Cox is white, 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, has gray hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray and red flannel shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Authorities say she is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Cox or knows of her whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
