A 93-year-old man riding a bicycle in Westminster was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday.
Officers responded near the intersection of Newland Street and Bolsa Avenue around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday regarding a collision involving a bicyclist who was bleeding and lying in the roadway, according to the Westminster Police Department.
The victim was unresponsive upon the arrival of officers and was immediately given life-saving measures until Orange County Fire Department paramedics responded to the location. They later pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The driver was cooperative and remained at the location while detectives conducted their investigation.
Westminster Police Department Traffic Bureau detectives took over the investigation and did not determine drugs or alcohol were contributing factors to the collision.
The victim’s name was not released.
