City officials in La Cañada Flintridge, along with law enforcement, launched a new educational campaign Tuesday to boost e-bike safety and ensure compliance with local laws.

The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, in partnership with the city, will use social media to inform residents about e-bikes, scooters and motorcycles, highlighting safety tips, regulations and potential legal consequences for violators

“By highlighting these potential repercussions, the city and the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station aim to deter non-compliance and promote responsible use of electric mobility devices,” officials said in a statement.

The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Department said it will increase deputy patrols for the illegal use of e-bikes and motorcycles, particularly among students commuting to and from school.

“This campaign is a proactive step towards fostering a safer environment for all residents,” Mayor Michael T. Davitt said in a statement. “By educating our community about e-bike regulations and safety practices, we hope to reduce accidents and improve overall compliance.”

Residents were encouraged to follow the city and sheriff’s department social media platforms for updates.

Anyone with information regarding suspicious activities was urged to contact the Crescenta Valley Station at 818-248-3464 or 911.
