A 49-year-old man suspected of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a trash can at his home in Costa Mesa was behind bars Wednesday.
Daniel Allen Aldrich was arrested Tuesday evening at a relative’s home in the 3700 block of El Lado Drive in Glendale, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
He is suspected in the death of his girlfriend, 38-year-old Julie Anne Sanetra of Irvine.
According to police, investigators were sent to the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, west of the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway, shortly after 2:25 p.m. Tuesday regarding the discovery of a dead woman in a trash bin in the backyard of the residence.
Police said Aldrich was quickly identified as a suspect and tracked down in Glendale.
Although the suspect and victim “were in a relationship,” according to police, a possible motive for the killing was not immediately disclosed.
