A big rig went off the Foothill (210) Freeway and landed in a Park and Ride, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 11:02 p.m. Sunday and occurred while the big rig was eastbound on the Foothill Freeway at the Lowell Avenue off-ramp.
The tractor and trailer separated when they landed in the Park and Ride at Lowell and Honolulu avenues, the CHP said.
A witness said the driver could not get out of the smoking cab and Glendale firefighters were summoned to the scene.
Just after midnight Monday morning, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health was asked to send a hazardous materials team to the crash scene due to a “spill.”
The condition of the driver was not available but the crash was classified as involving injuries.
