A man riding a bicycle was struck by two vehicles and killed in Santa Monica over the weekend, and police Wednesday urged possible witnesses to contact authorities.
The 41-year-old man was injured at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Lincoln Boulevard, and he died at the scene, the Santa Monica Police Department reported.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Los Angeles resident Bradley Allen Proudfoot.
“A bicyclist was traveling southbound on Lincoln Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle and subsequently struck again by a second vehicle,” police said in a statement.
“Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation,” the police statement said. “Neither driver showed signs of impairment.”
Anyone who with information on the crash was urged to call police at 310-458-8427.
