A fire damaged three units of a row of single-story bungalows in the East Hollywood area Friday.
Firefighters sent to the 1500 block of North Serrano Avenue at 9:06 a.m. Friday extinguished the flames in 17 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
A man in his 40s was taken to a hospital from the scene in unknown condition, the LAFD reported. The nature of his medical problem was not immediately known.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
