Fullerton police Tuesday asked for the public’s help tracking down a hit-and-run driver involved in a fatal collision.
The collision happened at about 8 p.m. Monday at South Euclid Street and West Orangethorpe Avenue, police said.
Arriving officers found the victim, who was walking her bicycle in the left eastbound lane of Orangethorpe, police said. The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was initially struck by a 2003 Lexus RX 300, and the driver of that vehicle remained on the scene and helped investigators. But another driver also struck the victim with a light-colored pickup truck and fled the scene, police said.
Anyone who has relevant information for investigators was asked to call police at 714-738-6812 or contact jfeaster@fullertonpd.org. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS, or at occrimestoppers.org.
