Intense visible flames damaged a two-story garden-style apartment building in Winnetka Tuesday.
Firefighters were sent to the 20200 block of Sherman Way, near Winnetka Avenue, at around 3:42 p.m. to reports of flames burning through the second floor of an apartment building, threatening a nearby structure, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
“Fire on the second story of the initially reported apartment building exposed and quickly involved the structure next door,” Lantz said in a statement.
It was unclear what may have sparked the fire, which was extinguished in 39 minutes after additional resources were requested at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
