A motorist escaped with minor injuries Tuesday after allegedly running a stop sign and crashing into a Metrolink train in Acton.
The driver was traveling westbound on Bootlegger Canyon Road at about 10 mph when he failed to stop at a railroad crossing around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
“The driver reported that he did not see any lights or the approaching train before entering the tracks, where the train subsequently struck his vehicle, causing the vehicle to overturn,” CHP Officer Jordon Church said.
Train service was temporarily suspended but resumed by 8:35 a.m., Church said.
