A man was wounded in the upper body during a shooting in Long Beach, authorities said Friday.
The shooting was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West 12th Street, according to a Long Beach Police Department statement.
Responding officers detained as suspects two men seen trying to get away from the scene, police said.
The victim was not at the crime scene, and investigating officers learned the man “self-transported” to a hospital with gunshot wounds to his upper body that were not believed life-threatening, police said.
One suspect found in possession of two handguns which he was prohibited from having, police said. Both suspects were arrested.
