A man was killed in a hit and run collision near the Glendale Junction, west of Lincoln Heights, police said Friday.
The collision occurred at 12:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Avenue 19 and Humboldt Street, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman told City News Service.
Witnesses told police the pedestrian was crossing Avenue 19 when the vehicle struck him and drove away from the scene, without stopping to render aid.
The victim, who the LAPD said was between 35 and 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was no vehicle description.
