Police requested the public’s assistance Tuesday in locating a suspected hit-and-run driver responsible for severely injuring two pedestrians in Koreatown last year.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision occurred on Nov. 18 at around 8:37 p.m. when a 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were walking eastbound as they attempted to cross the street at Western Avenue and Monette Avenue.

The two victims were struck by a gray 2018-2024 Toyota Camry heading southbound on Western, whose driver refused to stop and render aid, police said.

The driver was last seen continuing southbound on Western toward 11th Street, according to police. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location and took both victims to a hospital for treatment.

“Motorists are reminded if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the department said in a statement.

A city reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of suspects in a hit-and-run.

Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to contact West Division Detective Holmes at 213-473-0238. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
