Authorities sought the public’s help Wednesday in locating an at-risk 97-year-old man diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing in the South Los Angeles.

Charles Kenneth Gilmore was last seen around 10 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Wilmington and Gage avenues in the Florence-Graham area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Gilmore was described as a white man, 5-feet-3-inches tall, about 170 pounds, bald with blue eyes and tattoos on his right shoulder and both legs. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, and white adult diaper.

Authorities say he is known to drive a 2023 4-door white Subaru Outback SUV with California license plate number 9DNC708.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to contact the LASD Missing Person Detail at 323-890-5500. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
