A man was stabbed multiple times while walking in Long Beach and Thursday is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Officers responded around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday to a reported stabbing near Harbor Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, where they found a man with stab wounds to his upper body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Paramedics took him to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The victim had been walking in the 1600 block of West 20th Street when a man approached and stabbed him multiple times, according to police.

Police have not released details about the suspect or what may have led to the attack.
