A Silver Alert was activated Sunday for an at-risk 72-year-old man who went missing in Inglewood.

Anthony Joel Rogers was last seen at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday walking away from Centinela Hospital Medical Center at 555 E. Hardy St., according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert Sunday on behalf of the Inglewood Police Department.

Rogers was admitted to the hospital on May 18 for a mental health episode. According to hospital staff, he suffers from altered mental status and diabetes and takes medication, police said. He had recently left an assisted living facility in Mar Vista on May 9 and may be homeless, living in an unknown location, police added.

Rogers was described as a 6-foot-1-inch tall Black man weighing 210 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black-and-white jacket with draw strings, blue jeans, yellow socks and dark colored shoes.

Anyone with information regarding Rogers’ whereabouts was urged to call 911 or the Inglewood Police Department at 310-412-8771.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
