A Silver Alert was deactivated Friday after an at-risk 69-year-old man reported missing in Palms was located.

Joaquin Solano had last been seen near Vinton Avenue and Regent Street at around 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

At around 11:30 a.m. Friday, Solano was found safe at a local hospital and reunited with his family, according to the LAPD.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
