Two hikers and a dog were rescued Sunday from a remote area of the La Tuna Canyon/Verdugo Mountains Open Space Preserve near Glendale, authorities said.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the location at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The dog was experiencing symptoms of heat exhaustion, the department added.
“LAFD ground and air resources have accessed the hikers and are treating the dog in place. A brush patrol vehicle will soon transport hikers and dog out of their location back to the trailhead,” the LAFD’s Lyndsey Lantz said.
