A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run collision in Sylmar and an investigation is underway Monday.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Polk Street and DeGarmo Avenue, where Los Angeles Police Department officers learned from witnesses that a vehicle traveling east on Polk struck the victim and failed to stop, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called and pronounced the victim, a man, dead at the scene, police said
Officers closed Polk in both directions while they investigated the collision.
There was no suspect or vehicle description.
