A Mexican national living in Orange County was sentenced Tuesday to 23 years in federal prison for plying a 13-year-old girl with alcohol and sexually assaulting her in an attack he documented with photos and videos.

U.S. District Judge David O. Carter also ordered Jonathan Gonzalez-Reyes, 39, of Anaheim, to pay $3,000 in restitution to the victim, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Gonzalez-Reyes, who prosecutors said was in the country illegally, was convicted April 30 by a federal jury in Santa Ana of one count of production of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

According to prosecutors, Gonzalez-Reyes and co-defendant Nanci Jasmin Castillo, 32, of Anaheim, befriended the victim in February 2021. The pair sexually assaulted the girl at Castillo’s home after giving her the Xanax anti-anxiety medication and an alcoholic beverage, leaving the girl in and out of consciousness, prosecutors said.

Gonzalez-Reyes and Castillo photographed and made videos of the attack, according to prosecutors.

Images of the victim and the defendants were found on Gonzalez-Reyes’ phone and Castillo’s iCloud account, prosecutors said. Investigators also found evidence that Gonzalez-Reyes sent copies of the illegal material to Castillo.

Castillo pleaded guilty in February to one count of production of child pornography and she was sentenced in July to 20 years in federal prison, along with $3,000 in restitution, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

  1. That is just a slap on the face. Are they illegal? They should be charged billions and never get out of prison. Judge was probably one of Soros donations for the judges campaign funds. Judge should be charged for negligence. B
