A report of a woman with a gun and shots heard caused police Wednesday to search a Downtown Los Angeles apartment building, where shell casings were found on the sixth floor.
According the Los Angeles Police Department, the call came in about 5:30 a.m. at the Broadway Palace, a multi-story building on Broadway near Olympic Boulevard and Ninth Street.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene that they heard multiple shots.
No victims were found, police said, but three shell casings from rifle rounds were found on the sixth floor, KNX reported from the scene.
The search continued at 8 a.m., with Broadway closed between Ninth Street and Olympic Boulevard.
